I would advise only getting another dog around the same size. It can
be dangerous to a little dog to bring in another dog who will have
an unfair size advantage over a small dog, especially he is was
originally raised alone.
I also think, given the choice, that dogs of the same breed will
understand each other better and have more in common than dogs with a
widely different outlook on life.
Nothing is ever written in stone of course. It really depends on the
personality of both dogs in the end.
