Em, it seems like you picking her up is exactly what she wants you to do. you might unknowingly be reinforcing her biting. next time put her as far from you as possible, dont give her any attention either good or bad, and see if that doesnt help any. we recently had some dog training classes with our mastiff, and had a conversation about our chi's. he was pointing out that people tend to feed into their chis bad behavior, like biting, growling, barking and jumping. when they growl or bark, we have a tendancy to pick them up, hold them close and tell them its 'ok'. thats the attention they desire and to them its a reward for the behavior. just a thought, i hope the situation gets better. i cant keep a dog that bites or growls, my kids are too little, plus i babysit, and i cant allow an ill tempered pet. i expect the same kind of manners from my chis as i do from my mastiffs. blessings Heather

Well the biting of his shoes is better than biting his face! She
bit his nose so terrible one time. He then said either the dogs goes or I do.
I just looked at him and said the dog isnt going anywhere. He slept on the
couch for one night and it was fine. But it has taken quite a bit on my part
to get her to where she is. My oldest daughter is scared of her and never
picks her up. I cannot put her on the couch with me as she will try to bite
whoever tries to get on the couch. I have to hold her and tell her no when she
gets that wild look in her eye, but it doesnt always work. Just ask my hubby

I hope your doxie problems subside, they sure are cute though! -em J

I don't have any crates that are large size. All I have are 2
small ones. I don't have money to buy any either because of the huge electric
bill. I will get a deposit I hope on the 5th on a doxie puppy and then I am
going to try to buy one.
My hubby is handy with wood though. Maybe he can make a small cage for in
the house. We have one outside that is 4 foot wide and 8 feet long and 4 foot
high and it is chicken wire. Knowing my luck they would gnaw through the wire
and be halfway to your house Em.
Tell Chico hi and hugs !
Yes the momma is fine and Herc has a sore leg and is intimidated...poor
baby. If it comes down to it they will go before he does.
Wow that is funny she bites his shoes. He better carry treats in his
pockets huh?
No kidding my sheltie used to search everyone's pockets cause my late hubby
always carried her treats in his pocket.
Thanks Em !

OH! I dont know what happened L
The message I sent was this one: Can you crate them when you are not around?
I would keep showing them who the real Alpha Dog is
Is the little mom okay?
How about Hercules?? - I hope everything work out for you. Chico says hi, he
is curled up on my lap watching me type J -- em
Some dogs are just harder to break than others. My little Pita is still a
pistol and tries to bite my husband ALL the time. Now she has taken to biting
his shoes instead J -- em

Em this email is blank in my mail box. Did you accidentally
send an empty. I sure was wanting to know your opinion.
