Oh, he barely eats a stalk or a leaf. The stalk is longer than him,
actually. Haha!
I don't think mine can chew on carrots yet. He's lost 3 teeth this
week and even before that, he could barely chew on his Breath Busters
unless I pinch them to tinier crumbs AFTER I've already snapped it up
to a few smaller pieces.
You're right. I think food is more tempting when someone else is
eating it. Or maybe it's just a game he plays with the bunny. He
can barely chew on his apple slice that I share with him. And I give
him a really thin slice! I used to want them to play together but
the bunny has gotten so much bigger than Maxx that I'm afraid he
might nip Maxx because he's gets too excited with him.
You are right - relish is the word. Maxx used to relish his food,
too. Like he hasn't eaten in days! But nowadays, he's got himself
some manners I suppose. Hahaha!

I once read spinach is high in oxalic (spell?) acid which won't

Your guy probably likes whatever someone else is eating! LOL
I liked feeding my boy twice a day: once in the morning and again
when I have dinner but he has lost interest in the a.m. meal. He's
eating the same amount almost but I do not like his attitude toward
food now. He just does not seem to relish it as he used to.
I hope I am just being too over protective.

Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Eating Habit change
Did you start giving him 2 meals or he started skipping them
first? I'm not sure when I should start changing his eating
schedule. Some days, he skips a meal (breakfast or lunch), some
days he doesn't. There doesn't seem to be a pattern yet so I can't
tell. What I noticed though was that when I got him a month ago,
he would eat like he was soooo hungry and be done in a few
minutes. Nowadays, he paces himself when he eats and doesn't seem
to be rushing it.
He always steals my rabbits veggies and chews on it. My rabbit
eats spinach. Is that okay for chihuahuas? I didn't feel very
comfortable feeding him those greens so I let him have a tiny piece
of the rabbit's apple instead. Without the skin of course -- just
thought apples might be better than the greens? I'm just
guessing... Or is it too sweet?
