I would think the rate should be at least $10 a visit. I pay my sitter $16 per visit. She checks on my puppy and my parrot, cleans their bowls, puts fresh food and water, and changes the paper lining in the bird cage (if more than 2 days), picks up the newspaper, plays with Cesar, she would also include walking him but I don't want that (I worry about accidents happening). If I am gone a long time, she will also water my plants. At that price, I have her come in the morning and my son does the evening duties (after he gets home from work). The last time I used her, she told me she is going up to $19 a visit. Gloria
