I just to do it on my big dogs all the time.But Brutus and Sissy are so smale i
cant do it have to take them to the Vet.I tryed it one time and Brutus and
Sissy started to wiggel and sream
like when i try to clip there nails so long story short i take them to the Vet
and get it done when i get there Nails clipted.My Vet has a grooming service.

I'm not sure I would want mine sedated for that. A little pain med., sure...but
I am not sure about sedation.
Pepper had a rupture once that got real bad to...bad enough that I took him to
the vet for anti-biotics, ect as well, so I know how freaked out you must have
been feeling...especiall y before you knew what it was....I can be scary, lol.
Glad he will be ok.
Make sure you ask the vet to show you how to express his glands because since
he is prone to problems, it is something that needs to become part of his
regular routine.

just got back form the vet. he kept him. it is his annal gland its acting up
plus its infected and at ruptured. he said it was quite large. he is going to
sedate him and give him a pain shot before he squeezes it and clean it out. he
said he would send him home with pain meds and antibodic. so far so good.

we came home from work and there was dried blood on the floor a
little. i throught one of them had liocked there feet to much. It
turned out that my pom pom was bleeding ner thr rectum. he had dried
feces on him so we put him in the sink too eash him off he has a spall
tear that squirts blood when you touchwash near it . and there is a
large patch like a bulge on oneside of his rectum it is purple in
color. i called the vet he said it sounded like a anal gland problen
and made a appointment for tomorrow. Have any of you heard of this
before? this has me so upset. I feel like i did something wrong. he
