Liz, I have a 4 year old chi and she goes everywhere that i am allowed to take her, that means hotels, boats, etc...if necessary and i know that she will be left alone for several hours, I will take her fold down wire cage that is about 3 feet by 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet with us and she can stay in there while we are out. (Not for very long though). most hotels will take the dogs now with a little deposit.? It is up to you if you wish to have a break from them or not.
