Do you mean color? Is this a chi question or general? Dilute in color would mean a paler version of an original color. Kinda washed out color. Merle is a color diluter gene that causes a dog to have patches or spots of a lighter version of the coat. For example, if the merle spot in on a black coat, the spot would be grey. Sometimes, when that spot is on the eye, the eye will be part blue. Does this make sense?? I am sure someone has a picture in this group. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words! - em :-)
