Okay, gonna sound crazy but the exact same thing happened to Daisy.  Here's
a link to a pic with the area circled in red.

She had recently gotten her shots which were not even close to that area.
Though it sounds like the same thing (it went away in about a week), please
see your vet if you are concerned.
