Glad to know it was a happy ending. Oh, how scared you must have been! I don't know what I would have done!! - em :-)

I was at home all alone (not as planned!) and I KNEW Ginger was not gonna be able to deliver these pups. I have known all day something was wrong.....it was just taking too long for active labor. But once active labor started, I knew I was in trouble. I do not talk on the phone so I had absolutely no way of getting in touch with anyone for help. Being Sunday, the vet was not in of course, so no drop in. I prayed and cried for the Lord to let someone call, or the kids get home, or Wayland come by or something. ANYONE who could call a vet for me. Finally, a sac starts comming. I am ecstatic!! FInally they are comming!! Then the sac breaks, but no pup!! I do a vaginal, and there is no pup in the canal at all. I am totally freaking out and do not know what to do. Mom was gone in the car (my truck has a bad tire and I can't drive long distance in it) so I couldn't drive to the ER vet. An hour passes and still no pup. Then she starts passing bright red blood. At that point I knew one way or the other, I had to do something! I put her in a tote and went to my SIL's. Thankfully she was home and was able to call the vet. But still, I had no transportation. Just then, Wayland shows up and he drives me to the vet 15 miles away. Ginger delivered two pups by c-section. My first section in 11 years of breeding chis. I had her spayed while they were at it. They said that even had she been able to deliver the first, the second would not have been deliverable. The first one was pinched somehow and couldn't get into the canal. The second one was twisted up. PTL both pups made it!!! I couldn't believe it. I sure thought the one that had lost the sac was a goner. But it was fine. The second one stopped breathing on them a couple of times, but they were able to revive it. So, as of now, mom and two pups, both boys, are home and doing pretty good. Ginger is still groggy, but is aware if her pups are moved. At first she was biting them, and bit the vet. I do not know what went wrong. This is a 4th litter for her and she has free whelped with no problems. The pups are not huge, so it wasn't size (they did not weigh them, so I need to do that). It was just one of those things that the good Lord saw us through, but has sure had me on my toes today! Thanks for all the prayers....couldn't have survived this without them!!! Marsha
