You have to remember that the ingredients that cause Gizmo to like his
food are still in the poop!  Copraphagia is what its really called
and if you can't be there to quicly pick up, then a few days of
"Deter"  will do the trick!    I had to use it with
my malamute shepherd mix!  It makes the poop distasteful and then
the dog gets into the habit of leaving it instead of partaking, so to
speak!  Good luck!

            Gizmo
(8 months old) is pee pad trained and he has started eating his
poop, yuck!  When I have to leave him to go to work for a couple
of hours (4 hours at the most), I leave him in his x-pen in the kitchen
with bed, toys, water and pee pad.  I know he has been eating his
poop because I can see a little bit of it on the paper but no poopie to
clean up!
 
I have heard of dogs doing this before.  What can I do to
break him of this yucky habit?  Any ideas would be very helpful.
