Hiya all!
I will get some pictures up as soon as I can!! For now, the details.....this
is her first litter. Cali is purebred, but her breeder would not register her
as her father was a "standard" and her mom a "toy". Cali is large, just at the
breed height-limit; she is a wonderful girl, and her pregnancy didnt change her
personality at all!!!
Cali had 6 puppies last night! She had 5 girls and 1 boy! The only boy is
mostly black with white. The black and white girl is colored like a Holstien
cow! She had one blonde and white girl, two mostly white with 4-5 black spots
girls, and one solid white girl (born last). The runt is the boy, but he is
only slightly smaller than the others, and not really runtly.....all are
healthy, and eating heartily.
While her mother had had trouble through many of her births, Cali's went very
smoothly, and I didn't even know she had the last one till we woke up the next
morning! Even her breech baby was easy. I was hoping very much that she would
have had them on Monday, and she did. My wonderful little girl came and got me
with her first contraction. She loves her mommy!
She is now getting some Esbilac with Goats Milk along with the packet of
beef-and-cheese pedigree along with good quality hard dog food twice a day so
far. The pups were born fat and healthy, and are still chubby. They won't hold
still unless they are sleeping, so getting a good picture is kinda hard! :D
They are all doing fine, she is keeping them warm and clean. She is a
wonderful and good mommy. She didn't need any help at all! All chihuahua births
should be this easy for the mother and breeder! :D
Anyway, that is our update. I will keep ya'll updated and post pictures when I
can get the little loves to hold still long enough! :D
