Hi; Five years ago I adopted a dog from West Virginia and had him (Bubba; blind from birth) shipped to me; He worked out wonderfully. He is a delightful; happy dog... And I would do it again; I found him on Petfinder.com; talked to the woman who had him; he was born with defects and she could not sell him, and they were retiring from breeding; so she gave him to me. I paid about $300.00 for the whole deal. Vet certification; pet carrier; and his flight. He loves his Mama Carole. Does not like being held much but loves to stand on two legs and wrap his paws around my leg and give kisses... He loves Daddy Henry and his canine and feline siblings; lol... He seems to be the happiest dog I knows; he smiles alot... Next time I'll send pics of Monkey, our other Pom. The Chi is My "nephew" Chico; My Sister's Chi. I was looking online because my daughter wanted to buy another Chi. I saw an add for one that was free to a good home. I sent them an email and they replied back that there son had died and the dogs were his. The lady said that they were too much of a reminder so she wanted to give them to someone that would give them a good home. She wanted me to pay the shipping fee of $90. I thought that sounded fair and not bad price for the dog. My daughter looked on the internet when she got home and found that these same 2 Chi's were being offered in different states. I Googled the name of the Chi's and found out that this was a scam. These people will tell you that the shipping company will call you in a few days to make arraingements with you. At that time you must give them your Credit Card info. After they supposedly set things up, you find out a few days later that it was a scam. The best thing you could do is to try to Google the dogs name or the person who has the dog. Also, I would suggest you get a prepaid Credit Card to use to pay the shipping fee. This way they only get the shipping fee money. Also, I would ask the person ahead of time what is the name of the company they are using. This way you can Google the name to see if they are a legitimate company. Also look up Chiweenies for sale on the internet to see if they have posted any similar ads for the animal. I do know these people have been doing this with other dogs on the internet. Apparently, it is a big scam that is going around. I did happen to find a breeder in my area that I did ended up buying my new Chi from. I now am the proud owner of Sadie. She is white and has Blue spots on her. She makes numer 3. She replaces the dalmation that I had to have put to sleep because she was too old. My daughter was upset that I put my Dalmation to sleep and she wanted to get another dog. I said alright if she pays for it. Sadie has been a joy. I am really surprised how well all of the Chi's have gotten along. What was cute was one morning when I got up, I found Sadie and one of my cats curled up together sleeping in Sadie's cage. I wish I had a picture of them together but by the time I got my Camera they had moved. Donna F.
