hi mel,
you can get one of those peepad holders so they can "tell" they jump over a
little bump to get to the peepee spot... i tether mine to a open crate with a
peepee pad tray outside the crate and a toy basket outside the crate and a
fluffy bed inside that takes up the whole crate ... door open.... she is always
tethered unless on my lap or being watched in the room... she is doing great
always finding the pad cause she can feel the bump and pad is different than
the bare floor.. thats another thing carpet feels like the pee pad ... set her
up on a bare floor.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Problems with pee pads

Hi all
Its been awhile but have been busy with sewing curtains and crotcheting bed
cover. Just finished refinishing waterbed frame. Still working on the sewing
and crotcheting. And will soon start painting walls also. ITs amazing how what
seems like a simple little project can take Forever it seems to finish. But I
must say it does feel nice to complish it finally and see how nice it all turns
out.

Jinxie really hasn't gotten any better about the pee pad issues.

I have her in one of those little play fence ex pen type things and as long as
I have most of it covered with a pad she will go in it.
But as soon as I try to make the pad area smaller she will either pee on pad
and poop off or poop on pad and pee off.

I don't know what to do to get her to use a smaller pad. I was hoping you guys
would have some ideas and suggestions you all could share.

I don't trust her in the house either so I bought a pee keeper suit for her to
wear when shes loose in the house to keep her from going where ever.
She has only wet in it once and I honestly think it was my fault that time . I
was gone all day and I think I mistook her trying to tell me she needed to go
for excitment to see me.

Anyway ...

Honestly is there anyway to actually train her to where I don't have to worry
about her peeing and pooing all over the place with out extra measures being
taken?

I know she doesn't get house training or pee pad training at all.
And I honestly don't know how to get it across to her either.

She is I guess about 20 months old now.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated .
I hate to fuss at her as she takes it so personally most of the time.
Heck even when the cats get fussed at she takes it personally too.

Anyway I was just hoping for any input, help, advise and suggestions you all
might be able to give me .
You all helped so much with other issues so I was hoping maybe you all might be
able to help me with this too.
Thanks so very much
Look forward to your input and keeping up on the list better
mel
