Hi Liz, Maybe this has already been mentioned and I missed it...but what about having her join a class...just a bsic obedience class...she will learn to socialize with other dogs and their people...the trainer can help you with her "tude" as it happens. This would not make me happy either!!!
Maybe you could start by visiting your friends houses...where she is not territorial and work with her to "behave" when out...when she barks...do you correct her??? I might hold her little face in my hands and say very sternly "NO!" when she barks...with our eyes meeting. But basically it sounds like you just need to re-socialize her...letting her know what you expect from her as you go! Just my thoughts! I would agree locking her away will not fix it and may just make it worse...she has to learn how to behave in a way that is expected so she can be part of the fun too!
