The animal shelter came to my house, picked up my dog and put her down. I was
going through the divorce and wasn't very "strong" at the the time. Now I would
do anything to stop something like that from happening.

I don't understand that, who made you put the dog down? Maybe you could explain
all the facts. If the person gained illegal entry and the dog was protecting
you
and your property, I can't understand how any law could make you put the dog
down, since you and the dog are the victim.

Thanks.
I had a German Shorthaired Pointer that became so obsessed with me after my
divorce that she wouldn't anyone around me. As it turned out, someone tried to
break into my house and my wonderful dog bit him. Unfortunately, she was put
down!!!!!!
Our dogs are so dedicated to us and will give their lives for us. Even our tiny
chis will do their very best to protect us.

Before I became an addicted Chi lover I had a Dalmatian as my son was leaving
for college and he was the last to go. This was before the movie where everyone
was getting them and then giving them away - like Beverley Chihuahua's (I think
that is why there are so many chi's at the pound right now). I named her
Arizona
as My son went to U of A. She was a wonderful dog and gave me 14 years of love
and fun. I was younger then and we would roller blade together and hike all
over
and go to the beach. So remember just like Chi's who have sometimes been given
a
bad rap - all breeds can become wonderful if you love them and learn what their
needs are. She got me through my mom dying, my son leaving, my husband leaving
me - I was so grateful for being her mommy. Just thought I would share that as
the first picture was a Dalmatian.
