Deanna Why this is so hard on you is because you thought that Madison/LuLu was yours to KEEP. She was a gift from your son. Even if you did place an ad for her owners, you did not think anyone would call as your son said he looked for her owner for a couple months? anyway, when we have the idea something is ours now, to have it taken away hurts. If you are a foster mom, and KNOW that you are going to find a home for this one or that one, its hard, but you see it differently as you know this dog will sooner or later get a new home. There can not be ANY foster parent who is not emotional when an animal finds a new home. But I think with time of being a foster, you get use to dogs coming and going. (maybe not). but fosters are doing a great thing for animals. (usually) Years ago, someone found a basset hound duck taped all 4 legs and mouth in a big trash Dumpster. They heard her whinning when they took the trash out. They could not keep her where they lived. My ex and I took her. We knew that we could not keep her either but we were willing to keep her until we can find her a good home. She was one funny entertaining hound. She use to run as fast as she could straight for our living room chair and jump so hard into it, that it tipped over backwards. that was her favorite thing to do. She also a couple times somehow jumped up on my dresser from one end, slide down to the other end, taking everything on it... off!
We did find her a forever home within a couple months. someone who already had a basset hound. so I was happy about that. We also fostered a Keeshound for a few months until we found her a forever home. I have raised kitten from a day old , & kittens that were very young and found them homes also.
