You measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail along the back for length. measure around the chest just behind the front legs for the Grith size. You need 1-2 inches bigger than the dogs chest size for the garment. sample: Ricky is 12" around chest. I buy him 13-14" Girth and 9-10" long as he is 9" from base of neck to base of tail. Usually the dog clothes on ebay will have a little chart with a dog that shows how to measure and the sizes available.
