Gigi seems to be acting like her old self all last night and today! She even did zoomies last night and wanted to play! I haven't seen her go look at her back in almost two days now, but she did stop and smell the legs on the chairs a couple of times and stand their looking into space for a second. But when I called her name she responded, which is a good sign. She is also looking for attention again and wants to stay on my lap, which is where she is now. She is still having those body jerks when she is in a deep sleep though. I did read that link on seizures that some one gave and it did list some of her symptoms for the mild seizures and those weird ones fit her too. I just hope that she out grows this. You know, a month prior to her getting spayed she was given the 4 in 1 Booster. And two weeks after her spay, I gave her the K9 Advantix flea/tick drops on her back. I have used the K9 on Princess for a couple of years and never had a problem with it. Just makes me wonder when you add everything up, plus her background, which thing caused it, or is it a combination of all of those things. Just like everyone else who has a dog that has seizures, I don't think that we will ever know without any doubts what causes them. Their are just to many variables, which is probably why the Vets can't figure it out to. I still have not given her a rabies shot, and I don't think I am going to either. Here are my reasons: She is not a nipper, so I don't have to worry about her biting anyone. She's about 6 yrs old and the odds are that some where along the line she probably already had a rabies shot, or maybe two. Their hasn't been a rabies case in dogs in over 20 years. She is not licensed, so the town and state don't even know she exist. I originally had the girls on a three year protocol for the Booster, well I don't think I am going to be doing those anymore either. The only virus that I am concerned with, because it has changed it's strain several times through the years, is Parvo. If their should be a change in the strain of parvo and if their is an outbreak in my area, I may consider giving that shot. It would kill me if I am forced to. My girls love the dog parks and so do I. We live for the summer, since they are couped up all winter. Princess is registered with the town, since she came from a shelter and every year I have to submit proof of her rabies shot. This past spring she was due for her 3yr rabies again, which I did, but she did have a mild reaction to it. I have to say she is the first dog I have ever owned that had any reaction to a rabies shot. The maltese's that I had, received a rabies shot every year, before they changed the law to a three year shot and they never had a reaction to it. Princess was extremely affectionate, which is not her norm. She was also hyper and would continually act like she was searching for something, and when she couldn't find it, she would come to me and cry and whimper for me to help her. Of course she had no clue as to what it was that she was looking for. This crazy behavior lasted a little more then 24 hours. She really didn't sleep much during that time either, because as soon as the would doze off, she would suddenly jump up and start searching for her ghost or wake me up, demanding to be comforted. So maybe, I will tell the town three years from now, that I don't own her anymore and that way she won't have to get anymore rabies shots for the rest of her life
