hI THERE!! I live in California.. and I'm always passing along info on FB...
Does anybody know what it takes to be considered a "rescue" person? Let me
know.. I'd be happy to pull a Chi for somebody if it means saving their
precious
little life and figuring out a transport.

Subject: Helping the CA chi's

Since we have all been talking of ways to help the shelter dogs, I do have an
idea for any one who lives in CA., which is where the majority Chi's are.

Deanna,  I think you mentioned that a neighbor of yours works for a shelter,or
a
rescue? Not sure on that one, but, what if you were to call/ask  Shelters for a
list of Rescues that work with other out of state Rescues, that way when some
one in our group like Pam in FL, and Ellen in IN, would be able to adopt from a
CA  shelter. It may be possible for you to even see the dog first, if it is in
a
shelter close to you.

Here's the way it would work. A CA rescue pulls the dog for a rescue in FL. The
Florida rescue (or any state) does the home check and app work for the person
who wants to adopt in FL (or any state). The two rescues are the ones who work
out the transporting.

That's the way that the Southern states do it. They use pre-approved local
Rescues who pulls the dog out of a shelter and puts it in boarding wile the the
paper work is being done and the dog receives it rabies shot for the out of
state adopter. The local rescue is actually working with the
out-of-state  rescue to do the home check and coordinate the transport.

So why not do the same thing for the dogs that are in CA to other states?  But
some one has to get the list of the CA rescues first, in order to get things
rolling. Once we have that list, then any one will be able to save all those
Chi's in CA.

What do you think?  If you go on the Dogs in danger site and put in for
CA-Chihuahua their are hundreds of them in the shelters, some of the shelters
also have video's of the dogs on u-tube.
