Since you've had a lot of puppies, I'm sure you know that this starts the
time in his life when he's starting to learn bite inhibition, so it's
crucial that you teach him that human skin is too delicate to ever put his
teeth on. Something I've had a lot of success with is when a dog touches you
with his teeth (whether hard or soft, bite or not) yelp in a very high
pitched, LOUD voice. If he's in your lap, put him down and then completely
ignore him for about 30 seconds, no matter what he does. Usually a dog will
follow you, trying to get to your face and will try to apologize (by licking
your chin). After your time is up, accept the apology and go on as if
nothing happened. You may have to keep this up for a while - expect that and
don't give up.

Redirecting is also a great tool to use. If he starts to go for something he
s not supposed to have (like your feet),correct him and then direct him to
something he CAN chew on (one of his toys, bone, etc).

If your other dogs are adults, they'll teach him in a similar manner - watch
how they do it and then copy them Dogs are great teachers!

Bless you for taking him in and good luck!

have an approx 8 week old puppy who is a terror, he wont stop nipping! Sadly
I found him in a garbage can the morning after Thanksgiving. He gets along
great with all my dogs and cat. I have had many a puupy in my life. I have
never had a puppy so young be so ornery!! He bites almost viciously atttach
our shoes our pants, at this moment I am sitting in our bar stool chairs
with my feet up on another chair to keep from being bit!!We love the little
booger, he has been great to potty train, he sleeps in bed with us and our
other chi. he is as cute as can be!! He is healthy, we took him to the vet
and have had him checked out.. Has anyone ever experience a satan chihuahua
