Beau seems happy, like I said, we still interact but in a different
manner. He will only lunge at me, if I try to pick him up. I now use a
wooden
perch that has a plastic shield on it to protect the hand and it works
because when he goes to bite,he bites the plastic. I can read his body
language
well and also watch for the pinning of his eyes, so I haven't been bitten
in a good while. However, the last time he nailed me, between the thumb
and pointer finger on the right hand, because I am diabetic, when it got
infected, it took months to heal. I still miss his kisses, when he would say
"gimme a kiss" then just gently put his beak on my lips. But one day, he
bite my lip good, so no more kisses. Those two instances were when I decided
I loved him and he loved me but life had to be different now, and I have
accepted it.
