Dear Beth, I am sorry about the loss of your cousin. Here is a link to let you know what Pick's disease is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pick%27s_disease I had my first dog when I was 12. His name was Skipper and he was part Chihuahua and part Fox Terrier. He was very mean. He would bite us all the time. Then when I was 16, we got another puppy which looked a lot like Skipper. We named him Lucky. Lucky was part Chihuahua and part beagle. He was a very nice sweet boy. We had to have Skipper put to sleep when I was 18, and Lucky died when I was about 27. After that I had a couple of parakeets. When I moved to North Las Vegas in 2008, I got my little Dolly Dee. She was in the pet store window with her head under a beagle puppy's ears. The moment that I held her, I knew that we were meant to be together. Fifteen months and four spinal surgeries later, I wanted Dolly to have a little sister to play with since I wasn't able to play with her as much as before. I went to a local breeder and she didn't have any little girls, but had 2 little dark puppies.one was a blue, and the other was a chocolate tri. The chocolate tri looked like a little brown bear cub because he was very chubby. I felt that this was the one that was meant for me. Although Dolly had a hard time with Desi being here, I think that she was Chihuahua-talking him the rules of the house. Now they will lay next to each other, play with each other, and from time to time they also have something to squabble about. I was just curious about the group, How many of you have had dogs through out your life, or are just newbies? I have had dogs since I was 5.Or that is my 1st memory of having one. Her name was Julie, and she was a Beagle.. She was so fat.. She would rome the neighborhood dumping trash cans.. We lived in a rual area, horse country. She was a good dog, and lived about 10 years.. Everybody knew her.. LOL My really 1st dog of my own was when I was 10, I had moved to Washington state to live with my cousin, she was much older then I. She bred and showed Collies. She gave me a pup to put through Obedience and show. I learned so much, and thats really where it all started from. I only lived with her for 2 years, and she let me take my Sancho home to California. I never stayed in contacted with her, after I left. She was very kind to me in the begining, but towards the end of my stay she was very mean. Never knew why, but my mom said that her mother, my mothers oldest sister was the same. I never got to tell her thank you for teaching me all she did and giving me Sancho. I learned she passed away yesterday of something called pix ? not even sure I got that spelled right. I have tried to contact her daughter, my second cousin through facebook, but no luck.. So this is for you cousin Kathy.. Thank you for all the love you showed me, and teaching me the world of dogs.. Beth
