Gloria, I have heard that they are the smartest breed of all, and they have hair so they do not shed. I love poodles too. I can find something endearing in every breed. But if someone told me 4 years ago I would be a chihuahua lover, I would of said never! The reason why is I never meet one before and when I met my first one, I was forever in love. I always thought that they were barking, biting little dogs. I was in for a big suprise. But I think that is the way life is unless we get to know someone or a breed how would we know and most/all of the time we find out that its not the dog at all. It is sad because right now the pounds are full of Chi's and Pit Bulls. Two very misunderstood breeds! Plus, the movies Bev. Hills Chihuahua has a big part in the over breeding of the chi's. It makes me so mad!
