Peggy,

Great article, I had this problem with Sami esp. around children so when they
would come up and want to pet him I would hold him and let them pet his back
with his face on my shoulder down at their level and he was fine with that. If
it was a child that he would see often he would eventually start trusting them
and learn to love the kids and play with them. It was a process as it took him
time. I got him when he was 8 weeks old and socialized him so much, took him
everywhere. He was around my grandkids and daycare kids. I got him from a
second party I knew the person that sold him to me but it was from one of his
friends so I have no idea of his baby hood. I just feel in love with him and
was following my heart. I was told that he was very well loved and taken care
of - but I do not know if that was the truth or not. My nature is I tend to
trust way too much, but that is just the way I am wired and its hard to change
the way you are. I always expect
people to treat me like I would treat others and even though I have been
burned several times I still want to believe and I do that most people are good
and decent. I do not want to live my life thinking that everyone is a crook or
trying to scam me. I will save this one in my chi folder as it is a good
article. Nan
