I was trying it on Gigi before she started with the seizures, but she really isn't a blinker, and with her slight brain damage, she doesn't get to many things. I guess my little Gidget (RIP) will be the only one, although I did have a neighbor who said her Yorkie did it to.
Hey Deanna, Try teaching Madison, when ever you talk and look at her for any thing, as long as it is a positive thing, say yes at the end of your sentence and blink once. When you have to use the word no, blink twice. She s young enough to learn and you may not see that she is doing it for a couple of months, but I bet one day she will show you that she got it. Just practice it on a daily bases. -------Original Message------- From: maryjane turner Date: 1/26/2011 10:55:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Smile!! oh my gosh... how wonderful... we've had some smart dogs but I don't think they were THAT smart... of course I'm not a talented trainer like you, either <G> wow! I taught her to blink once for yes and twice for no, by giving her a treat and used the word yes as soon as she blinked once. Then I would say a word that I knew she didn't like and watch the blinks, as soon as she blinked 2x I said no and didn't give a treat. She was perfect at it! She didn't like baths, and when I would ask her if she wanted a bath, she would blink 2x and then just stare at me. If I asked her if she wanted a bone, she would blink once and then would just stare at me waiting for her treat. I loved playing and talking to her this way, and dearly miss her. It's a great trick, if you have a dog like this adorable Chi in the video. She really is talking with her eyes! -------Original Message------- From: Evelyn Quintana Date: 1/26/2011 8:40:59 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Smile!! Peggy, this video is really cute. My black and tan girl, Pixie, does her eyes the way this black and tan does. If you talk to her in a high voice like that she quints her eyes also. I loved this video. Evelyn From: Peggy & The Girls <[email protected]> To: [email protected]; [email protected] Sent: Wed, January 26, 2011 12:49:38 PM Subject: [Chihuahuas] Smile!!
