You don't back up your data? I use to do it by my self but it took to long so have a company that will do it for 50.00 a year. What software are you using, I know with Windows you can back your computer up to another day like 2 weeks before and it will start with that day. Also, it is not gone you can take it to the GeeK guys and have them retrieve it. So keep your faith I know you can get it back! - FYI you might want to print the really important documents or put them on another disk or a UBS (or what ever those things are called) It is just a small plug in that has so much memory depending on which one you get - but a lot more than the disks.
