Hello:

I would just offer her a chance for the next 48 hours for a return and refund.
You were honest up front on the conditions. I had a friend who was a breeder of
Malamutes and always offered to refund the price of purchase if the dog ever
got
hip dysplasia, they just needed to provide proof from a vet. This was for the
life of the dog. He only had to refund once.

I guess if the person who you sold the pup to can prove from the vet that the
pup is sick because of the heat issue, then maybe refund 1/2 of the price of
the
pup and they keep the pup, or return for a full refund. But put a 48 hour limit
on the offer. Do not pay vet bills, taking a pet to a vet because it may be
sick
is normal.

I have rescued four Chi's now and one did have a few issues after I rescued him
and the vet offered to pass along the cost to the rescue group and I told him
no
way, I will cover it. His response was OK -- then I will charge your their
discount price. I was happy, the vet was happy. My chi's are always happy.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] oppinion?

Would like some oppinions here. Sending this to Christian groups for moral
oppinion, breeder's group for the breeder's oppinion and non-breeder chi
group for the buyer's oppinion...covering all my basis :-)

My pups were ready to go Monday, and they went quick! 3 of the available 4
were sold before they were ready to go! However, last week was extremely
cold here. I'm gonna be very frank and honest. I can not afford to keep my
heat very high. My temps inside my home are set at 56. We keep
covered..its the best I can do. Anyhow, a couple of the pup's got a cold.
We had already arranged pick up of the pup on Sunday so when I met her we
discussed the cold. She did not have to take the pup but I told her, if
she wants it, take it to the vet and if the vet says anything is wrong,
she can return it and I will give her her money back. Monday I called her
to see what the vet said. She said the vet said the pup had broncitis but
was otherwise healthy and gave it some antibiotics and said he would be
fine in a few days. Again, I offered her a refund and return of the pup.
She said no. Said he would be fine. My contract states you have 72 hours
to tell me you want to return the pup and it states that if there is any
health concerns, remedies are limited to buy back of pup...I will not pay
vet bills.

Today she calls says it has been a week (actually only been 5 days) said
the pup was still not better and that vet wanted to do x-rays ect and
said it was genetic. I told her it absolutely was not genetic. I also
told her, although it had been longer than 72 hours, in order to preserve
my good name, I am STILL willing to give her her money back and she can
return the pup. She said they would wait and see what the test say and
then decide, then hung up. So I texted her and told her I would keep the
offer for a refund open another 24 hours....which will be 6 days total
when my contract clearly states 72 hours.

I do not know what she is wanting. I think maybe she expects me to pay the
vet bill, I don't know....but what more should I do? I will NOT pay vet
bills. I do accept that the pup got sick under my care which is why I have
extended the refund time. But at some point, I have to be able to say the
deal is done.

Marsha
