The booster seat that I have for Dolly & Desi is in the back seat.

I used to have Dolly in her booster seat in the front. My sister asked me
one day what would happen if the airbag went off. I asked the dealership if
the airbag would still deploy if their was not an indication of a person in
the seat. (the booster seat was attached to the back of the seat, but not
sitting all the way down on the seat). The dealership said that the airbag
goes off unless it senses someone too small sitting in the seat, which would
have meant that the air bag would go off and probably kill her. That is
when I moved it to the back. I put it on the passenger side of the back for
a while so that I could see her if she was barking or cyring. When I got
the bigger seat and also got Desi, I moved it to the drivers side because I
was also going through the back surgery saga. They are still behind me, but
I can see them in the rear view mirror.

Oh Peggy, that does make me smile. Thank you. I woke up so sore this morning
and the accident won't stop playing in my head... I really wish it would. I
see it so clearly, kind of in slow motion. I even remember what I was
thinking too and what I did to try and avoid it and I can see there was no
way I could of avoided it. I slammed on my breaks and swerved but I was
already too close to her. The worst thing is that for a split second I
thought I was gonna be able to stop and then I didn't. That is one of the
worst feelings, a glimpse of hope and then bam, knowing there was nothing I
could of done...

I think I will go with a hard carrier for Monster. How do you seatbelt it in
though? Before the accident, I really wanted a console car seat for him,
which would of kept him safe in this accident but probably not in a worse
one. He may have gotten some burns from the airbags though but I'm not sure.
I know he would of been traumatized and I hope he never has to go through
that because I don't know if he could handle the stress.

Thanks for making me smile,
Lorena

So sorry to hear this, but thank goodness you weren't seriously hurt! Car
accidents do have a way of staying with you

for a couple of days. I know when I had mine years ago, the whole thing just
kept going over and over in my head. I too didn't want to ever drive again,
but I had to go to work and I had no choice but to take the same road to get
their, but I did avoid that lane that it happened in, lol!

I too, choose a hard carrier that is seat belted in the back seat for Gigi.
I was going to get a car seat, but then I thought that if the car was to
roll or the roof cave in, then they are totally exposed. At least in a hard
carrier they have some

cushion as opposed to a car seat or soft carrier. Princess does have a
harness attached to the seatbelt and now I am thinking of getting her
another carrier that will also fit in the back seat. The one that I have for
her now is too big to fit in the back along with Gigi's.

I am so glad that you are okay, and sorry to hear that you lost your car.
Hope your bruises and aches and pains go away fast.

Hugs,

Peggy

Gigi and Princess give licks to help heal and put a smile on your face too!

Well, I have had a horrible night. Someone pulled out in front of me and I
hit them causing the airbags to blow... So, I'm all sore, bruised, and
burnt. Other than that I am doing ok. My car on the other hand, is not... I
will probably be needing a new one. I'm a little sad about that since it was
my very first car and I've had it for around 7 years now. Anyways, after the
initial shock and after I realized that it really happened, one of the first
things I thought was I'm so glad Monster wasn't with me. He would of been
hurt so bad! It makes me really want a car seat for him. Actually, it makes
me never wanna be in a car again. Especially with Monster. I'd rather
walk... I hope none of yall ever have to experience this. Driving is so
dangerous! I think we need a new, safer mode of transportation...
