Yup, those seeds can be a pain too. Through the years I have tried several vacuums and would return them, because I have found out that when the air vents on a vacuum are at the bottom, especially in the front, they blow the seeds and feathers all over before you can suck them up. So this time I am looking for a good vacuum where the vent is either on the back or higher up on the sides, like my old Hoover.
I have never heard of Lindhaus either and Kirby hasn't been in NY for years. But I am going to Google it. Do you know of any stores that carry the Lindhaus so I can look at it? -------Original Message------- From: Deanna Corey Date: 2/25/2011 9:09:23 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Vacuum Cleaners A Lindhaus is a Swedish vacuum...it's my upstairs one and has tools on board I bought it because of my parrots...lots of seeds, nuts, feathers and tiny wood chunks. It handles everything really well including bird molting fluff. It has been going strong now for 7 years and is always trustworthy...the only thing I have ever come close to the power and reliability of my Kirby.. but kirbys are sooooooo heavy and have no inboard tools. The Lindhaus is very light!! Wagging Tails in the Dog Park! Not only did I clean out the part where the belt goes and had to use the dog comb to get all the fur off of the brush, and changed the belt, but then when I opened the motor, I was shocked to see that everything was embedded with her fur. So I need a machine that can really suck up her fur without killing it's motor guts, lol! What Brand and Model# do you all use? Are you very happy with your vacuum cleaner, especially for dog fur?
