Some Chis are more shy than others and it takes a while before they relax enough to actually play. Emiliano has gone to three Meetups and he still is not joining in. He too just sorta walks around or sits by the gate wondering how to get out. LOL However, with each Meetup he has done a tiny bit better, so I am not going to give up. He won't drink out of the community bowl (s) either and even though I carried his own water, he still wouldn't drink although his tongue was hanging out.

I just took Lola to her first chi meet up in Calif. It did not go as well as I thought. First I would like to say she like all the dogs in the neighborhood and all the dog we see at the pet store , even a big saint Bernard that was drooling allover the place. She went up and said hi. The chi meet up was a different story. She as happy until we went in the gate. I think the sound of the gate reminded her of the shelter. She walk around with her tail down and looked worried. She kind of people hopped and wanted them to play with her and not to much in to the dogs. She didn't stay by me she just kinda wandered around. She did like a very small chi and I mean small 2lbs and some of the larger dogs. She would not drink the water out of the bowl either. She only played about 10% of the time. As soon as I noticed a little foam on her mouth I scooped her up and we were out of there. The weather was cool about 72. I don't think she was hot or cold just not happy. I just thought she would have so much fun, able to run around. I don't know if I should try it again or not. Valerie
