Galveston was almost destroyed by hurricane Ike, and although a lot of
rebuilding has taken place, it still has signs of the damage done all over the
city.  Those who elected to stay in Galveston, I think I read at least 15
percent left and did not come back, have repaired or are still repairing and
painting their houses but many are boarded up.  The architecture in
Galveston is unique, I am going to dig up some of the photos of houses that I
have taken to show you.  Ike also killed many trees and vegetation but it
also scattered seeds and now, I noticed a little yellow flower, looks like a
black-eyed susan, is growing all over the city.  I stopped and took a photo
of Emiliano in a patch of the flowers.
