I've been a part of this board for a while, but I never purchased a chi. I am
so happy because I have been talking to breeders for a couple months and many
times I have had my heart set on a puppy and things have come up and I was
unable to get the puppy. Also it seems like more boys are born than girls and I
really really wanted a girl. I had decided on purchasing a long hair chihuahua,
but my breeder only had little boys available. I was sad about this, but
decided that I could be happy with a boy. I have a male shih tzu and he is
great.

I was at my best friend's house when we happen to see a man walking two dogs
which looked like long haired chihuahuas. We went back just to talk with
someone face to face about the breed and play with them to see if it was really
the type of dog I wanted. One dog was a purebred long coat chihuahua and the
other was a chihuahua pomeranian mix. They just so happen to have puppies and
long story short after seeing the adorable babies I bought a female.

I was very nervous. I haven't had a puppy in 10 years. They gave her to me when
she was just 6 weeks old and she is 7 weeks old now.I put her on my personal
scale at home and she weigh 1lb4oz, but when I took her to the vet for her
first shots she weighs 12oz. I assume the vet scale is more accurate. She was
completely healthy. I was scared to get her at that age because I know puppies
should stay with the mom at least 8 weeks.

She has been an awesome puppy! She was basically pottytrained when I got her
and I switched her over to litterbox training and she got it one day. I have
had her for a week and she hasn't had one accident in the house. She crates up
well and she doesn't cry about it. I'm excited. More to come. I'm posting
pictures. Her name is Gigi.
