For those of you in the Southern California area, I thought I'd pass this
along. I found it on Craigslist, so please don't take anything for granted. I'm
only posting because this is the shelter Pia was rescued from.

The killing spree continues at Downey Shelter. For months they have been
killing animals claiming they are sick when they are NOT. They continue to kill
cats & kittens even when the animals have rescues pending.

Just today this happened:

I talked to Ron at 12:30 pm, and he said this kitten had until 7 pm. 43 minutes
later they killed him! We had an IP (Interested Party) on him and they didn't
phone the person, just went ahead and killed this beautiful, Lynx-Point Tabby.

The next photo is one of hundreds that they killed quickly - while they were
well aware of the fact that he was being rescued. Get THIS... the reason they
gave was, "he was feral." As you can obviously see, by the photo, this young
boy was sweet, friendly, highly social & highly adoptable.

We are collecting documented cases that are piling up daily/weekly - to verify
the fact that Downey Shelter is doing "spite killings." Torres was removed from
another shelter for this very reason. WHY are such dispicable shelter mangers
re-located to a different shelter VS. being fired? Why can't they be replaced
with compassionate people who actually "like" animals & want to see them
adopted VS. having needles put in their veins?

YOUR TAX DOLLARS are FUNDING this shelter & others just like it! If you knew
what was happening on a regular basis at this shelter your JAW WOULD DROP!
