Hi Shanna, The tumor was attached to the brain lining and was benign. It was quite large but didn’t get large enough to push into the brain.
I go back to get a repeat MRI in August and then if that is good, I will have annual MRIs to watch for a regrowth. I am just very tired. I was fighting it, but last week I had appts with the neurologist, neurosurgeon and pain management and they all told me to rest when I am tired and not fight it because my body needs the rest to recuperate. Dolly & Desi are good most of the time. They have been bribed a few times with a treat, but otherwise they stay by me in the recliner chair and when I go to lay down in bed. They are good little nurses. I sleep about 9 hours during the night and then about 2 or 3, I lay down for a 3 or 4 hour nap. For example, my vet said that the testicle problem that Desi had can only be from inbreeding (breeding bro/sis or other closely related dog). Please be sure to tell your vet that she was a product of brother/sister breeding. He can tell you what problems to watch for, and he will know what to watch for when you bring her in. The incision is feeling fine, teeny hair is starting to grow, but I have been so tired; I take 3-4 hour naps in the afternoon. I was trying to stay up through the fatigue but all my doctors have told me the same thing…I need rest because it doesn’t matter what surgery the body has to recuperate from the anesthesia. Keep in touch and keep the pics coming. I see that Abby loves to play with toys; and I am also glad that Ricky is getting along with her. I can't take her out to interact much as she is not done with her shots yet. I recently acquired a chiweenie puppy. What happen is my daughter was dating a guy, who's grandparents dog had puppies. My daughter told me they were chiweenies.. so I had to go see them. They were just giving them away, no money for them. I fell in love with one of the female pups, and thought if Ricky (my chi) did not like her, I could give her back. long story short, Ricky was not happy and was trying to attack the puppy. So my daughter said she would take her. Well her cat was really not happy with the puppy to the point of attacking my daughter because she was soooo angry. So my daughter talked me into taking her. Well in a couple days Ricky calmed down and now loves the puppy. I named her Abby. Her parents are both chiweenies, and turns out they are brother & sister. She is really adorable! very sweet, house broke already. :) She & her sister were born with 1/2 a tail. The boy puppy was born with no tail. she goes to the vet tomorrow for her 2nd set of puppy shots. I am thinking microchip too. she wears a collar like Ricky with an ID tag.
