I pray that your Mom’s surgery goes well. Normally, the bone from the hip is
used to take the place of the bad disk…does she have two disks that have to be
removed? I have already had three cervical fusions and one lumbar/sacral
fusion. Sometimes they use a person’s own bone (as they did for my
lumbar/sacral fusion; and sometimes they can use artificial disks. Please pass
on my good wishes, and please keep us informed of when her surgery is, how it
went, and how she is doing from time to time after that.

I've been given permission to break the secrecy due to special circumstances.
MJ, your secret pal is my mother Sharon Britt. She's not good with computers so
I often help her check emails and all. She requested you be told because she is
facing major surgery next month on the second and is unsure how long she will
be unable to communicate. She has a bad disk in her neck and they are doing
surgery to replace it. They will first remove a piece of bone from her hip and
will then fuse that to her neck column. Then they will replace the bad disk
with a plastic one and put in a plastic cage to support her neck more. Then it
will all be screwed into place. The doctors say it is dangerous and
complicated. So she wanted you to know who she was in case something happened
to her. She loves shopping for your packages and cards. Mom shops more for
others than herself and always has. She fully intends to continue as long as
she can. If it is safe and okay with everyone I have been asked to post her
name, address, email and phone number so that anyone in our group can contact
her. Any ideas on how we can safely get that info out? She was thrilled that
you liked everything. Hope you are well. Take care.

You know who you are but I sure don't... Once again you have surprised me with
a package full of goodies and a lovely message.

I'm so so sorry that you have had two strokes. My goodness, that is a lot to
have to deal with. Glad, though that the physical therapy is helping and I'm
sure that most of the memory problems will fade in time. Please do take care.

I love being your pal... sure wish I knew who you are <G> That little shirt you
sent for Benji in the cutest thing along with that little collar with the water
melon on it.. too cute. The jerky strips will be devoured and enjoyed. As for
the list pad, what can I say, I'm always grabbing a pad to keep notes and this
will sit right on my desk. I know I could put it on the fridge but I want it
beside me.

I will get a picture of Benji in her new shirt and post it here... unless you'd
want to send me your email address so we could chat privately.

Again, many many thanks and I'm so glad you are my secret pal.
