Hello & welcome Quinn,

I am Beth & I am in in Southern CA. I have 2 Chi's, Chassis & Dani, Both girls.
Chassis is 2lbs smooth coat 9 yrs. black & tan at one time, now grey in black.
She is my senior, just lost her mom a couple months ago. Dani is long coat,
going on 2yrs. She is a big girl 10lbs. Then I have 2 Papillons. Ori is going
on 3yrs in January. I adopted him last April. He is a wonderful wonderful dog.
Then I adopted a female Pap the end of September. Caramella is 5 months old.
She was a mill puppy, skinny and had kennel cough when I got her. I am new too
the Papillon breed, but they hooked me just like the Chi's!
Welcome too the group. Hope to see pictures of Rylie and George! & Thank you
for adopting them.
Here in CA our local shelters are pts 100's of dogs a day, and allot of them
are Chi's.
It always warms my heart too know when someone has saved one from being put
down..

Beth

Hi! I am so excited to have found this group!!

2 years ago, I adopted my first ever dog. Rylie, now 3 1/2, had been in a
shelter since she was found badly injured around 3 months old. She is an
amazing dog!! I am so thankful to have her. She quickly became my navigator
and constant companion. I had no idea how much I needed her in my life :)

Rylie has lots of fear issues, mostly people of all ages, shapes and sizes :(
We have worked hard together over the last 2 years to get to take walks around
people and be generally less stressed and reactive around other people and in
public places. She has made huge progress since the afternoon I met a little
black dog cowering in the corner of the meeting room.

The biggest changes in the way Rylie relates to the world have come in the last
6 months. On April 23rd we adopted George! He was a little bag of bones on
the PTS list at the county shelter. The shelter estimated he was around 3
months old. He had this amazing survivor spirit and as I drove him home, I
prayed he would be ok. He is now 10 months old and a very healthy, silly,
happy, friendly, and sweet boy.

Since I was Rylie's only home and she had been an only dog, I didn't know how
she would do with having a puppy around. Rylie is an amazing big sister!!
Hooray Rylie! Rylie and George together make me laugh and feel loved every day.

I forgot to tell you, Rylie is 10 lbs, solid black chi mix about 10 inches tall
and George is a chocolate chi mix now 9 lbs and almost 13 inches tall!!! George
is all legs, our friends at dog park joke that he must be mixed with giraffe :)

Rylie and George are both thriving on a raw diet (Primal nuggets), and I think
we keep BaxterBoo in business finding fun ways to keep them warm :D

One of the main reasons I was excited to find this group right now was to find
some stories of people who have been through luxating patella surgery with
their dogs. George has an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon and "growth
specialist" this week to talk about problems with his knees and maybe hips. I
am a sleepless wreck waiting to find out what the near future might hold for my
sweet boy. I am most worried about the recovery time and what kind of activity
level he could get back to after the surgery (his most favorite thing to do is
meet up with his pals at dog park and play chase and wrestle for hours every
night).

I look forward to being an active member of this group. I will upload a photo
of Rylie and George tonight, and can't wait to meet everybody's fur kids
through the photos section.

Wishing everybody an amazing week!
Quinn
