aaaahhhhh Sleeping...I'll keep her medicated ...LOL...

My vet's office where I work 'insists' on 10-14 days of no or low activity
until sutures removed.  Timmy was SO hard to keep quiet...UGH...and hated the
'cone of shame' (e-collar) but he was an insistent licker...would NOT leave
that area alone.

THANKS...

Thanks, Lynda.

I think that when Charlotte is spayed that she will sleep well for the first
few days.  When Dolly was spayed I was out of town and I got back three days
later…no restrictions at that point, just some pain meds.  Sleeping from pain
meds is a good thing when you have one that loves to play.

Joan - sending healing prayers for Miss Dolly to get through this with a
complete  and speedy recovery.  You are very lucky to have a vet that could do
the surgery on the spot...

I have no ideas for keeping them apart so I will be interested in hearing what
the others say -  as I will be facing a similar dilemma when Charlotte is
spayed and wants to play play play...(altho she is still crated at night and
when I'm not home for her safety) - my concern will be 'how do you keep 2 crazy
puppies from playing with each other-she and Timmy are non stop when I'm home.

BEST OF LUCK DOLLY - (and hang in their mama Joan - she'll be home with you
before you know it).

Hi all,

Thank you all for the prayers.  I got her to the vet at about 7:15, and he said
that it does have to be repaired.  I managed to get out of the house with Dolly
this morning while Desi was eating.  Broke my heart when I got home because I
let Desi out of his area and he was searching all over for her.  I had him jump
on my lap and he was smelling, so hopefully he could smell his favorite place
to visit…I am holding him right now.

The vet said that he has two surgeries scheduled before her, and that they will
call me later – I think they might call me after the surgery, and then when she
is ready to come home.

I have the HOA walk through, a conference call with the president of the Lewy
Body Dementia Association, and I have to pick up a few things before I bring
her home.  I was going to clean the stroller really good so I can keep her in
there so that Mr. Desi Lou doesn’t lick her incision or try to remove the
stitches as he did when she had knee surgery.  However, at 6 months Desi could
jump on the front of the stroller and on top of the canopy.  He also chewed the
zipper so I cannot enclose her.  I think that my only option would be for him
to sleep in his area tonight – which will be right by us.  I know that Dolly
may not want to be held, and if so, I will put her in Desi’s area and I can
sleep with one eye open again.  I will try to think of a solution to that, but
getting her through this surgery is the first thing on my mind, and then being
able to find a good solution that will keep Desi away from her during the
night.  I think she may feel better if she is in one of her beds and have a
nice clean blanket over her.

If anyone has a solution that I may not be thinking of, please send your
thoughts.

Thanks again for all of the prayers.  I guess getting the hernia repair done is
the right thing to do and I won’t have to keep thinking that I have to remember
to have that done if she were to be put under for something else.

At times like this, I am so glad that my vet is a walk-in clinic and no appts
are needed.

I will update you all later after I have word from the vet, or have Dolly home.
