When Dolly was approximately 20 months old, I heard a huge commotion between
Dolly & Desi – wasn’t sure what had happened but they were going at it with
each other. A week or so later I realized what happened. Dolly was laying
under a blanket on the bed and Desi (perhaps 6 months old) was jumping and
playing. I guess he jumped on top of her. Her knee would not stay to the
middle and everytime the vet gently pushed it back to the center, it fell back
out again. The specialist came to our vet’s office and did the surgery. He
called me when he was done and said that her other knee was grade 1 and we
should wait on that one. She did very well after surgery, and after a certain
point we had to do exercises to move the joint and build up the muscles. Last
year she had some pain in the winter from the cold, but this year I don’t see
anything that is bothering her with the knee.

Just wondering how many of you have/had leg/knee/elbow issus with your chi's?
And if so - what was the age of onset/injury?

Charlotte - so bold, so swift, graceful as a gazelle with the agility of an
Australian Shepherd....I worry...

She has no current problems - but as an over-worrier - I just wanted to ask...

Thanks, Lynda
