I don't think that I have ever seen the star spinner in Petco. I did the
google and it came up on Petco.com. I don't know if each Petco chooses what
to have in the store, just never saw any of the puzzle toys in the stores
here.

Google : star spinner dog toy

There are many places. I don't remember, but I think I either got it at
entirelypets.com or drsfosterandsmith.com.

I think I have almost all of the puzzle plush and wooden puzzles. I also
have the pawhide and the treat wheel.I had to adapt the caps for those two
with the plastic ties, but then Desi could get his treats in no time flat.
I removed two of the plastic ties and he has not touched that toy since and
there are still some treats in it.

I just get tiny treats - Charlee Bear, tiny training treats, etc. Sometimes
I get those star treats.I bought them in Petco.

I have even bought Dolly & Desi the bones that are a bit fuzzy and they do
the same thing.chew the fuzz off and then once that is gone they will chew
the bone part into pieces. I gave all the tennis balls that come with the
Christmas stockings that some friends gave them and all the tennis balls
that they get at the pet fairs to my vet to take to his wife who is the vet
at the local no-kill shelter. I took other toys that they never play with
too.Frisbees are not something they like to play with, and I get them at
every pet fair from more than one exhibitor. If you are looking for
something to throw for them, Dolly & Desi chase after their plush
handicapped toys - the ones that they have amputated all the ears, tails,
arms and legs off of. They are the Hartz ones that sell for 3 bucks at
Walmart, but they love them and of all the toys that they have.those are the
favorite ones. I have bought Dolly & Desi some toys that are for dogs that
are a little larger, but the ones that I buy have feet or arms or something
that they can play tug-of-war with. They like to pull and Dolly growls when
she plays that; and she will growl at toys when she runs after them to bring
them back. They used to like the latex toys and I would always squoosh all
the air out of them, and then I throw them and they make the weirdest noises
as they fill up with air again. They play with very few of their toys. I
put plush toys that have plenty parts where she can gnaw on them, she does
that a lot and she will chew them. Desi will find a squeaker and keep
chewing around it until he chews a whole in the toy and gets the plastic
squeaker out, then he chews the squeaker until it is no longer
recognizable.and then he doesn't play with that toy anymore. He has other
toys that he takes to his area, but I don't think he plays with them. When
they are playing together, he is being made to clean her face, and they will
play with the amputees (they currently have three) until they start getting
the body stuffing removed.then I put them in the garbage when they aren't
looking. Desi has slowed down a little and so usually I find them both
laying together sleeping in the recliner or if I put Dolly in the stroller,
Desi will jump in and it is the usually Desi has to clean Dolly's face and
then they both fall asleep under the blankets. They are actually sleeping
closer together which Dolly would never tolerate before. Then, one day they
might find a toy that they haven't played with for a long time, and that
will become the toy that they will play with the most. I pull up their toys
and wash them, and then give them toys that they haven't had for a while.
They all make the rotation but that actually makes them play a little more
when I put different ones out. So they do get bored with the same toys, and
are always happy to play with something that they never did before because
maybe they don't like the other toys that were put out with them.but they
have both changed and so their playing style has also. Their new toys that I
got them at PetSmart with the gift card Judy gave them for Christmas are
ones that have lots of strips coming down where they can play tugging
against each other. That is what they like to do the most right now. The
other toys that I buy them are the puzzle treat toys..when I go out, I put
the treats in those so that they can use their problem solving skills and
eat their treats that I give them. Desi actually is getting a harder one
because the one that I bought them at CVS is way too easy for him. But,
when I first put it down, it was Dolly that jumped in his area.they were
both smelling the treats, but it was Dolly that figured out how to get it
out first. That really surprised me. I have been using the Star Spinner
for her and the little plush gingerbread house and the plush magic hat with
the three bunnies. I put her favorite 'cheese cookie' in the gingerbread
house one day, and I had to come back to get my phone. She had her head
inside of that toy and I think she must have already had the treat in her
mouth, but she couldn't get it off her head. She was walking around her
area and trying to push it off with her head wagging back and forth. I told
her to use her paws and then she stopped where she was and then bent her
head down and it was easy for her to get it off. I just wish that I had the
camera there to take a video.I had to laugh when I got back in my car.

I am hoping once Dolly's eyes get better, and then the weather gets a bit
warmer, that the two of them start to play more instead of sleeping under
blankets all day. I am liking that they will sleep with me all day when I
am sleeping, but they really always did that because my brain surgery was in
May and I was actually so tired for almost three months and we spent a lot
of time sleeping the whole days away. But, I would like to see them playing
rather than having to just sleep all day.but I am flattered that they will
give up playing to guard their Mama.

I want to buy my dogs some balls to play with. The ones I have now are
about the size of baseball and fuzzy. In no time at all they tear the fuzz
off and chew the rubber into nothing. I try to catch it when they are
tearing the fuzz off and throw the balls away. Do you know of any more
durable balls or even other kinds of toys for small dogs.
