I would (and did) get another dog, and my first dog has become healthier and
happier as a result. My Cavalier, who was only 4 years old at the time,
sometimes seemed like he had the dreaded SM (a deadly condition for Cavaliers,
he exhibited many of the symptoms.)

Once I brought Jo-Jo the Chi home, all of the Cavalier SM symptoms disappeared.
I think the Cav, Toby, was just bored. Now he plays with the puppy, Jo-Jo,
like Toby was a puppy again.

I am retired now, but when I was working 12-14 hours per day, I had 3 dogs, had
a dog yard out back and they could go in and out of the house through the back
door and they were very content doggies.

Dogs are pack animals, as are humans. Just imagine being left completely alone
for so many hours per day, no interaction with any of your species.

My Advice, Again, Definitely Get Another Dog!!!!
