My guy is 12 and still is iffy on the housebreaking -we have a dog door and STILL he has accidents. Try pee pads/ or plain newspaper..walk him/her a lot and I personally tyry to keep my dog nearby and keep an eye on him as much as possible. One person I know attaches the dog by leash to his belt and they go around connected all day...funny but recommended by his trainer.
