Well I have two males 11 yrs old and 12 yrs old respectively. The one dog,
adopted off the euthanasia list at a shelter, has never been fully
housebroken. He will pee on couch, comforter, whatever. He does this
intermittently and seemingly w/o provocation. He has, for the most part
stopped pooping
in the house, a problem when we first got him 10 yrs ago.
The other male NEVER does this, and will actually point out where the
little guy has peed.
Both hubby and I are alpha, we think. We both feed, cuddle, discipline.
We tiled one home completely and he will go on a bathroom mat (or that
comforter or couch) despite that fact that there is a doggy door for him.
We just follow and clean up. Nothing has worked. I watch him like a hawk
and let him out about every 1/2 hour, He holds it when I go out without him.
He has peed right in front of me.
I have the diapers but haven't used them as yet. If things worsen he's
going to be wearing them. It's int'g reading everyone elses problems. At
least, I'm not alone in this ;)
I've read Chis can be hard to housetrain.
