You know that is one thing that I don't fully understand. Dogs are mostly carnivores and I have read that they don't digest cellulose which is what most vegetables are. Sometimes I think that when everything hit a head with the dog food companies to get rid of the filler foods, like wheat and corn and too much rice is not beneficial to a dog, that they had to come up with something they could add to the kibble, so veggies was it. I give my girls a little bit of broccoli, and carrots, and sometimes pieces of corn as a treat when I have it as part of my dinner, but just don't feel that it would be beneficial to them as part of a regular diet.

I'm interested in doing so but most of the recipes I've found are for huge amounts and I want to make some food that is good for small breeds. Any advice would be appreciated.
