I asked because our street was hit by a tornado, our whole area actually and we were w/o electricity for over a week. I think it is all in personal perspective. Depending on what you have been through and where you live.

I think that is some of the difference. The hurricane seems to be everywhere for days and then no electricity for days or weeks. A tornado is random and jumps around. I am sure both are extremely destructive and create devastation everywhere. We lived in what was called tornado alley.
