Subject: [Chihuahuas] Foster Chi

So we already have 2 Chihuahuas; Rico, 3 and Scout,5. We have been
fostering Elmer, 12, from our local Humane Society. Elmer has a bad heart
murmur and enlarged heart from infected teeth that have since been pulled.
He also has a bone spur in his hip that he gets Metacam and Adequan shots
for. So we are going away for the weekend and are putting Elmer back at the
shelter for the weekend to see if if there is any interest in adopting him.
We leave for FL next Thursday and I was planning on adopting Elmer and
taking him with us if he is not adopted. Now another worker at the shelter
has volunteered to foster him while we are in FL for 6 weeks. I am so
torn!!! He gets along really well with our boys. He still marks in the
house so I keep a belly band on him. We travel by plane and it WILL be a
pain traveling with 3 Chi's. And it is a pain walking 3 dogs with 2 people.
On the other hand he has become my baby and I doubt anyone will ever adopt
him because of his medical needs. I don't want him to be in foster forever.
Any advice?
Sue
