Hello all We drove to Key West yesterday We took HI 75 down and turned off to 41 really nice drive through the Cypress Nat. Preserve It was great in scenery. We arrived at Big Pine Key about 6pm after a 9 hr drive. e would have shaved off 3-4 hrs if we hadn't taken 41 but who wants that........ I will take the hours added to a drive if the scenery along the way is good/great.
FYI........ DO NOT stay at Sunshine Key RV Resort. Talk about a DUMP. This is way below the standard of what would be considered even a trailer-trash park. The CGs at the SP were all filled up according to the reservation spot where you call. I am going to definitely take pix of this place and send them into ENCORE RV Resorts to let them know what it is like. We get a cheaper rate because we are Thousand Trails members but even in off season it is 299$ a week and with the tax and other charges it was 360$ for 7 nights.
