There is a product available in craft stores that's used on the back of
latch hooked rugs. It just gets spread on the back and left to dry. After
that you can use a tape available for holding rugs in place

I have a large area rug that I really like, unfortunately the rubber backing
is peeling off. I wasn't suppose to put it in a commercial dryer. Duh me!!
 
Does anyone have an idea as to what I could spray it with to stop the rubber
from peeling off?
