About an hour ago my tomcat Thijs passed away beside me at the couch.
He all of a sudden started heavy breathing. I supported him wel he fell at his
side at the couch.
He looked at me with big eyes and his tongue fell out of his mouth at
the left side. The flesh of his lips and gum became very white and he was gone.
It took no longer then 30 seconds.
Thijs was such a sweet cat. He was 17 and I had him for more then 15
years. He was so sweety, caring, relaxed and friendly. I always called him my
gentleman in the house.
Thijs had kidney-failure and was on medication for that. But he was so
very skinny and didn’t eat enough these last weeks. So I knew he wouldn’t be in
my life for much longer.
At least I don’t need to bring him to the vet to be put to sleep,
because that was something I was ao scared of.
But I was very shocked and upset when he died this afternoon.
After he had died I called my father. I did that in the toliet, because
my parrots scream when they see me call.
When I returned in my livingroom, my white deaf cat King was bussy to
lay down on top of Thijs. They were best friends since the first day that King
came to live in my house.
Poor King. I am sure he will miss Thijs a lot. My female cat Trijntje
always was unfriendly to King and to Thijs. So King won’t find a friend in her.
I want the remains of Thijs to be cremated and I’ll keep his tiny urn
with his ashes in my house. Just like the tiny urn of my small poodle Sandy
that passed away in 2002.
Thijs will have a beautiful spot in my heart forever. I loved him so
much.
I am not religious, so I don’t believe in rainbow-bridges etc..

        Hello Sharon,

I hope and think Kia will recover. Your vet said so too, so trust this
opinion. If anyone knows, he does.
I know the thought of loosing Kia is so hard that is causes you to be
afraid and extremally worried.
My 17 year old tomcat, who is a very sweet gentle cat (I always say
that he’s a real gentleman) had kidney-failure and is extremally thin. He does
not eat enough. I’m very worried about him too and the thought of having to
loose him soon upsets me and makes me so very sad. so I do understand how you
feel. I’ve added 3 photo’s of my dear tomcat King.
        Keep us informed!

Please say a prayer for my precious kitty “Kia”. I had to take her to
the vet yesterday because she has some sort of virus. She’s at least 12 years
old...the people before me had her for 7 years...I’ve had her for 5. She’s a
rescue so no one knows for sure...she had a collar embedded in her neck when
she was rescued...they had to operate to remove it...she’s the best cat! And of
all my cats...she’s my favorite...she sleeps with me and “holds my finger” like
my cat “MR” used to do. A couple of my other cats had this same virus...it
takes at least 4 - 5 five days for them to even start to feel better. They all
recovered fine....I’m just worried about “Kia”...she still can’t eat and drinks
very little water...I started to give her water with a syringe last night...she
hates it...but at least I know she’s getting water. I’ve been on the phone with
my vet twice this morning...he keeps assuring me she’ll be fine. She’s been
sick since about 1 am Thursday...thank you so much...
