LOL, the never ending question! I have been researching this for weeks, and
it isn't easy. So many factors have to be considered. The protein, the fat,
enough vitamin and minerals, and calcium etc. Not easy. I did find one site
that looked good, where you can add your own meat, ordered it and then found
out that Triticale, Spelt, & Kamut, were all wheat grains and have Gluten in
them, and the latter has 30% more protein then regular wheat or rye. Some
dogs are allergic to those grains, but they have other blends if you want to
look. There is tons of info on the net if you google for homemade dog foods.
If you find anything that really looks like it would work for a daily base
diet, please share.

Peggy: Thanks for sharing this article. Does anyone in this group prepare
their own dog food? I am not comfortable with the raw food choices. I do not
eat raw meat for many reasons. Consequently, I do not want to offer raw meat
to my pups. However, I am open to preparing food for them if this is a
better option than commercially available kibble. Debbie
