I have been seeing nothing but chis here for sale lately. (sigh!) Since they
were in demand for so many years, and you couldn't find any with the rescues
the BYBs decided to get in on the action, and now I have 4 local breeders.
And they are not all breeding to the standard. They are trying to sell the
runts for almost $3000.00, just like the pet shops do. At the same time, a
lot of local rescues are also loaded with them, because this past year they
have been getting them in from the South and CA.

If anyone wants chis to buy/adopt on LI, they won't have a problem anymore.
The rescues are begging for adoptions and fosters, so they can save more
from CA and the South. This past winter at different times, there was 2
male adult chis in my local shelter, and the shelter thinks that someone had
been letting them loose, probably one of the BYBs. Thank goodness one got
adopted, the other was rescued. Finding a chi in a shelter here is very rare
it's usually Pit Bulls and old Shih-Tzu's.

Someone should send some of the Fla
Chis up north . They would get snapped right up . Alabama and South
Carolina do it .

Very pretty, unfortunatly Florida has hundreds of Chis in shelters and not
enough homes or spots in rescues. Many shelters always have 6+ and most die
before being rescued. Monte was a gonner, shelters that have 200-300 dogs
just can't give proper vet care or attention. He would have died in a couple
of days, poor guy.
